Men's Recreational

Back Yard Porn Stars defeat Zach's Magical Ponies 10-5
The Backyard Porn Stars take the first ever championship 10-5 over Zach's Magical Ponies. The Backyard Porn Stars had their own superstar in Brendan Dilk-Sobkowich who led in three separate statistical categories (Points-67, Catches-23, and kills-109!). He was able to fell the Blue Man Group, Batman, Robin, Hot Dog Guy, The Canuck Green Guy and the rest of the greatest Dodgeball team in history that is the Ponies. The Porn Sarts got up early and were able to trade victories at the end to hold off our resident team of superheros. Despite the loss the Ponies will eventually be enshrined in the Dodgeball hall of fame and they were a pleasure to play against. But on this night the Porn stars brought out their best porn staches and overwhelmed the Ponies with both their stamina and girth in an hour long marathon session of championship calibre...dodgeball.

Coed:

The Dodgebrawlers TIED A Couple of Kids 3-3
Ninja Kill had their ninja skills incapacitated as the Dodgebrawlers broke their spirit and rotator cuffs and took the semi-final in coed. That set up the COED final against the league top seed 'A Couple of Kids'. The Kids went a remarkable 11-1, losing their only game on their first night of the season to the Dodgebrawlers. Since that time the Kids went 11-0 and dominated the league on the strength of league MVP Chris Kluz. Chris led the league in points with 52 and kills with a remarkable 129! Not to be outdone Joshua Drews of the Kids led the league in Points Per Game with 4.8! This stacked team had the skill, the momentum, and not to mention handed the Dodgebrawlers their only two losses on the season.

After the Ninja's were felled, the Dodgebrawlers came with a game plan to try to stem the Kids onslaught...and failed miserably to execute it for the first two games dropping 0-2 quickly. It looked like the Kids were going to win in a landslide but the light bulb went on for the Brawlers after the team remembered they had a game plan. The Dodgebrawlers fought back to make it 3-3 and send the game to overtime. The Dodgebrawlers record looked quite good finishing second in the league but they regularly played in overtime which meant their record could have been very different. That fortitude (read luck) didn't end championship night as the Kids were called for a rule violation 5 seconds into overtime which handed the Dodgebrawlers victory. However, the game shouldn't end on a technicality and the teams decided in the spirit of the game that they should share in the win as a testament to the great season both teams had. So your winner of the first ever PIT coed Dodgeball championship is a "A Couple of DodgeBrawlers!" Both teams took home championship shirts and will have their names engraved on the first dodgeball trophy! A fitting end to the season.

Team Captain All-Star Game Dodgeball Edition Newspaper_delete

Posted Wed Jan 29, 2014 - 12:48 AM

Its that time of year again to honour our team captains who put in all the hard work to make this league great.

For the fifth year running the PIT Crew would like to award all of those unsung heroes who chase around their teammates for registration money, ensure players get to the field, work around the schedules of others, deal with the day-to-day drama and generally go grey with the joys of organizing recreational touch football. Without the captains of the 140 teams in the league the PIT would not exist. Team captains might not lead their respective divisions in points, TD passes, interceptions, or sacks, but they are the true all-stars and should be acknowledged as such.

What better way to do so then to invite all of our outdoor team captains to our 5th annual captains all-star game held Sunday February 16th on the long weekend. To make switch things up this year we won`t be playing football but rather team captains will be invited to try out our new Dodgeball concept which went over so well during the Seasons Beatings Holiday Tournament put on in December. Information on dodgeball can be found on our sister site www.pitdodgeball.com

All team captains in attendance will receive all-star t-shirts courtesy of Harv-al and be eligible to win some great swag from our sponsors. Team captains must register for the all-star game by Wednesday February 12th to be eligible for the game. To register, team captains should email Jon (email found on the contacts page). Registered team captains will have their names placed on the homepage with the dodgeball teams created from that list.

Congratulations to each team captain who will represent their team in the 2014 all-star game! Only in the PIT!
